1. Create your own home spa
There is very little that a long bubble bath, candles and aromatherapy can’t fix, so why not turn your bathroom into a personal spa for the day. Treat yourself to a manicure, pedicure and facial, and enjoy a cool beverage of water with cucumber and lemon. Indulging in yourself for the day can take your mind off other problems and allow you to focus on some much needed “you” time.
2. Do something active
When you’ve had a bad week, the last thing you want to do is work out, but going for a run or signing up for a yoga class may be just the medicine you need to work out your anxiety. Exercise not only increases your endorphins, but also makes you feel physically stronger. When your body feels strong, you may have the feeling that you can take on the world, which can make overcoming obstacles seem easier.
3. Be a recluse
Your iPhone, email, Facebook and other social media websites makes you accessible to anyone and everyone, and gives you less time to spend your energy on the things you want to do. So take a weekend to turn off your phone and computer and instead focus on other activities that bring you happiness. This may involve reading a good book, going for a hike, organizing your pictures, rearranging your home or cooking yourself a delicious three-course dinner.
